On June 1, 2012, Marilyn Monroe would have turned 86 years old. With the 50th anniversary of her August, 1962 death approaching, Hollywood venues have been focused on the blonde bombshell’s life and career. To honor the legend, the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre has teamed up with Playboy to run a seven-day Marilyn Monroe film festival, showing seven of the actress’ most beloved feature films.
The fest run June 1 through 7, and kicks off with Some Like it Hot. The movie screens at 8 p.m. but before the show there’s a Marilyn Monroe look-alike contest that begins at 5 p.m. (the first 200 Marilyns get in free!) and an after-party at Hemingway’s.
You can buy a festival pass for $30, or pick and choose among the movies; admission to each film is $5, with the exception of “Some Like it Hot,” which is a special opening night fest premiere event…
